I know I hear ya'll singing the praises of the cross-bike, but why would you need a cross when you could do the same with your carbon road bike? See... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z1fSpZNXhU&feature=youtube_gdata
IMO, well worth the 4.49 it takes to watch.

Well now...
- now you won't have any excuses when we do a x-bike ride and you don't have one
- the young whipper snapper in the video isn't old enough to know you can get hurt riding a bike
- x-bikes have cool extra brake levers

Other than that...you're right!
